Live Wedding Artist in Virginia and Washington DC

I had the amazing opportunity to live paint at a wedding here in Northern Virginia. The venue is owned by a friend of mine at The Homestead Farm Historic Wright- Barton Venue in Winchester, Virginia. It is a beautiful venue with willow trees and historic value surrounded by serene views of nature.

I got to the venue a few hours before the ceremony to set up and start on the background of the image. The couple wanted their painting to be posed in front of the stunning willow trees sharing a kiss.

The weather was absolutely perfect for the ceremony. Right after the ceremony, it started to downpour and storm outside. Thankfully I had moved all of my materials into the barn to start painting the couple as I had only sketched out the background during the ceremony. I painted the background with acrylics so it can dry quickly and I was more doing a sketchy style at the wedding and doing the finishing touches at home.

I painted at the venue for about 7 hours working on as much detail as I could to get the likeness of the couple. I took the painting home and finished it with with oils. The painting took about 25-30 hours to finish. I absolutely loved painting this piece for the couple and hope to do more Live Wedding Paintings in the future!
