Sara and Rob chose to have their wedding in Sara's childhood backyard. The home was stunning and had quirky rustic vibes. The perfect backdrop to their wedding. They got married in front of a large lake and had the cocktail hour in the yard near their home. That is where I set up to start guest portraits.
The first hour is always me taking photographs to draw from of guests and chatting with them.

After cocktail hour, I moved to a huge tent where the reception was located. They had a perfect table for me tucked away but also where everyone could easily get to me. That is when I got to work painting the guests. The humidity that evening was wild and was messing with my watercolors when I put the finished paintings in the protective sleeve, so I did what I could and told the guests I would mail them to them as I didn't want the paintings to smudge and ruin. All of the guests were totally fine with me mailing their portrait, honestly, most of the guests prefer it as I send a little gift along with the painting and they don't have to carry it around and keep track of it.
I loved painting each and every one of these pretty little things and cannot wait to do more for future weddings.
